The Sheriff like you have never seen

May 24th, 2007 No comments

For years I have known you as the Sheriff, a strict and firm coach with a proven track record in controlling your teams as well as being one of the best talent finders (especially of foreign players).

Yesterday, when watching the Champions League Final, I learned something completely new. You have proven to me that there isn’t any better coach for our stickers than you. You demonstrated how a center forward should play – constantly look for the target, find the best position and with excellent reflexes never miss an opportunity.

But tell me, Eli Cohen, how did you get such great seats?!

One a final word if I may. You really did magic this year at Maccabi and I thank you for that. Just one little request before the season ends – win the derby on Sunday!

Bloomfield on 24

1:47 A.M.
Jack trains his gun when Nadia and the agents enter. He demands a guarantee that Audrey will be safe. Suddenly, Audrey mumbles the word “Bloomfield.” Jack explains that she’s answering where she was held. Dr. Bradley tells Nadia that the word could mean nothing. (
24, Episode Guide: 1:00 – 2:00 AM)

I never imagined Bloomfield will break into prime time TV in the US, a country where Baseball is religion and Football is a game played using the hands. The creators of 24 picked a fine place for the last 3 episods.

If you want to experience the real thing you’d have to visit Tel Aviv on a Saturday night, when Maccabi plays. Make sure you sit in gate 11 or 13.

Till then, Go Jack!

Golazo de Leo Messi

April 20th, 2007 No comments

It really does not matter which team you cheer for or whether you even like football (aka soccer). You just can’t ignore Leo Messi’s spectacular goal scored in the Spanish Cap Semi-Final game between Barcelona and Getafe (5-2). What’s even more amazing are two things:

  • The similarity to the one Diego scored in 1986 in Argentina’s victory over England
  • The timing considering Diego’s health situation. It’s like Leo is trying to make the legendary #10 recover.

I collected a few clips showing Messi’s amazing dribble, each in a different language. But regardless of the language you speak, you can pick the excitement from the commentary. My skin still shivers even after watching it at least 20 times.

and my favorite one: Ya Salam Ya Messi

Oh, man….It is such a great feeling to wear the Barcelona jersey’s these days…

Twenty is too much

Three possible reasons for the 1-0 lose yesterday to Maccabi Haifa:

  1. The Sheriff did not find that piece of wood to knock on when he was asked last week by a reporter about the 20 games run
  2. Lior Jan did not realize what it means to play well in the money time
  3. When he finally had the chance, Mardikovitz was attempting to score using a bicycle kick. Give me a break!

or is it (once again) becuase Nimni did not play?
