I saw Luiza warm up Fortis’s show last Friday and liked them.

They are touring as well. Check them out.

I love Berry’s latest album “You Are Here” and was so happy to discover that he put his entire discography (sixteen albums) for streaming on Bandcamp. Listen, enjoy and remember to support him by purchasing the CDs.

So happy Foreign Affair’s album is there as well. I had it only on a cassete and without a tape recorder at home I could not play it for many years, until now.

40

Today is my birthday. I am 40 and super happy and thankful.

Thankful for being again in Israel around family and friends.
Thankful for the wonderful startup experience of Hitpad and being lucky to share this thrilling ride with my good old friend Nir.

And most important, thankful for having an amazing supportive wife and three wonderful boys that are the light of my life.

Bandcamp has some really great Israeli music albums

Most of the albums you will find are by Indie artists that are probably unknown to most of you. It does not mean there are not good. Besides, there are also a few albums by very popular artists.

So, explore Bandcamp, discover new talent, enjoy free listening & if you really like it spend a few $ and support the artists.

At Kinnernet, Tal and I launched a local social network that involves mashing up (users prepare their own sweet jewelry), rating (Sweet if u like it) and content syndication (embed it anywhere on your body).

Liraz and Shany gave a big hand.

Crediting who took me to being #1 on Google

This is Tom Zickel. I just met him at Kinnernet. He is a cool guy that enjoys iOS development.

Thanks to him, for the past 2 years, my blog has been ranked #1 for the keyword “Hebrew for iPhone” and it still does. Yep, he is the guy behind Open Hebrew, the app many of the early iPhone users in Israel used on their iPhones before Apple supported it in iOS.

Thanks Tom and nice to meet you.

First Day at The Junction

February 28th, 2011 No comments

Today marks an exciting milestone in the history of Hitpad, my new company.

I moved from working at my home office to The Junction, a new co-working space in south of Tel Aviv, facilitated by Genesis Partners (thanks again Jonny, Eden a Micha).

It is great to be in an active atmosphere again, surrounded by smart entrepreneurs. There is also Nova's music studio right next door and an excellent Falafel down the street. So if you are in the area, come say hi. It is a really cool place to work at. Very glad to be part of it.

Three Videos, One Great Artist

January 13th, 2011 No comments
Last week, Roy performed in a small bar in Tel Aviv. Equiped with a piano, keyboard and laptop, he rocked the place. VJ Eran Barnea was in charge of stunning visuals. It was very special gig and I am sure it is just the beginning of a tour in this intimate format.

Here are three tracks I captured on my iphone (thus the low quality).

"New York"

"Desert Tango"

"Elinor" (performed together with his brother Guy Zu-Arets)
